    Key Highlights

    • World Chain released MiniKit 2.0, enabling unified development for web and World App platforms.
    • The framework adopts Ethereum’s EIP-1193 specification for streamlined wallet integration.
    • Transaction confirmation speeds drop to approximately 200 milliseconds through Flashblocks technology.
    • Developers can sponsor user transaction costs using Privy and ZeroDev integration.
    • Mini Apps generated 12.1 million sessions in seven days, reaching 2.2 billion cumulative sessions.

World Chain has introduced MiniKit 2.0, a unified development toolkit designed to streamline application creation across web browsers and the World App mobile environment. This latest version enables developers to write code once and distribute it across multiple platforms with limited modifications, reducing development complexity and accelerating time to market for projects entering the World ecosystem.

The upgrade brings MiniKit 2.0 into alignment with Ethereum’s EIP-1193 specification, a widely adopted protocol for wallet-provider interactions throughout the Web3 landscape. This standardization effort aims to create consistency in how applications communicate across different deployment environments while minimizing custom integration requirements. Documentation accompanying the release suggests that certain existing web applications can be adapted into Mini Apps through modifications as minimal as two code lines.

The launch coincides with growing engagement metrics for Mini Apps within the ecosystem. World Chain reported that Mini Apps registered over 12.1 million session initiations during the previous week, pushing cumulative sessions beyond 2.2 billion. These numbers reflect sustained user engagement with consumer applications running on World Chain infrastructure and accessible via World App.

Unified Platform Approach Simplifies Multi-Environment Development

A fundamental shift in MiniKit 2.0 involves bringing World App experiences closer to their web counterparts in terms of functionality and behavior. This convergence allows development teams to maintain unified codebases rather than managing separate implementations for distinct platforms. The strategy aims to streamline quality assurance processes, enhance distribution capabilities, and simplify ongoing maintenance cycles.

The update expands payment capabilities by incorporating additional stablecoin options. MiniKit 2.0 now accommodates region-specific stablecoins such as wARS, wCOP, wMXN, wBRL, wPEN, wCLP, and EURC. This enhancement enables developers to integrate geographically relevant payment methods without constructing dedicated local payment systems for individual territories.

This payment infrastructure expansion aligns with emerging patterns in blockchain application development, where creators increasingly prioritize settlement mechanisms that match regional user preferences. Through broader stablecoin integration, World Chain positions its network as infrastructure capable of supporting localized digital transactions within applications targeting mainstream audiences.

Performance Improvements and Fee Abstraction Lower Entry Barriers

MiniKit 2.0 incorporates technical enhancements aimed at boosting application responsiveness. World Chain confirmed that Flashblocks technology has been embedded within the framework, compressing transaction finalization periods from approximately two seconds down to roughly 200 milliseconds. This improvement particularly benefits applications requiring immediate feedback loops, such as gaming platforms, exchange interfaces, and interactive social tools.

The release also introduces gas sponsorship capabilities via Privy, utilizing ZeroDev’s account abstraction technology. This functionality empowers developers to absorb transaction expenses on behalf of end users, eliminating the requirement for users to maintain funded wallets for network fees. The feature targets easier onboarding experiences, especially for individuals encountering blockchain applications without prior exposure.

Combined, these advancements in transaction speed and sponsored operations address two persistent friction points that have historically limited mainstream Web3 application adoption. Developers gain tools to deliver more intuitive user interactions, while users can engage with applications without navigating technical prerequisites typically unfamiliar beyond cryptocurrency-native circles.

World Build 3 Program Accepts Applications From Development Teams

Concurrent with the MiniKit 2.0 deployment, World Chain opened registration for World Build 3, its accelerator initiative supporting teams building on World Chain infrastructure and leveraging World’s proof-of-personhood technology.

According to World Chain, earlier program graduates secured over $15 million in venture capital funding and deployed applications serving millions of verified human users.

The upcoming cohort will launch with a four-day competitive hackathon featuring $20,000 in prize distribution. Following the hackathon, participants will attend a build week gathering in Seoul, engage in a three-month virtual development period, and conclude with a demonstration event in San Francisco. World Chain plans to showcase MiniKit 2.0 at EthCC, scheduled for March 30 through April 2.
