    TLDR;

    • Solana Mobile will launch its second crypto smartphone in August with over 150,000 pre-orders already placed.
    • The company is introducing SKR, a native token to power its decentralized mobile ecosystem and reward users and developers.
    • A new decentralized architecture called TEEPIN will secure the platform using cryptographic access and a network of Guardians.
    • Seeker includes Web3 features like Seed Vault, Solana dApp Store, and the exclusive Seeker Genesis token for ecosystem perks.

    Solana Mobile has announced the upcoming launch of its native SKR token and the highly anticipated Seeker cryptocurrency smartphone, scheduled for release in Q3 2025

    The company says this marks a bold step toward a decentralized mobile future powered by Solana’s blockchain infrastructure.

    Meet Solana’s Seeker

    According to an official statement on Wednesday, shipments of the Seeker smartphone will begin on August 4, 2025. This will be Solana Mobile’s second crypto-focused phone, following the limited success, and eventual cult popularity, of its predecessor, Saga, released in 2022. Interestingly, unlike the Saga, which only found traction after a viral BONK token airdrop, Seeker appears to be gaining momentum early, with over 150,000 pre-orders spanning 57 countries.

    But that’s not all…

    Unveiled last September, Seeker is being positioned as a flagship Web3 device, featuring a secure Seed Vault, a built-in Solana-compatible wallet, an optimized dApp Store, and exclusive access to a non-transferable “Seeker Genesis” token. This token will unlock rewards, early access to apps, and special offers across the Solana ecosystem.

     SKR to Power Solana Mobile Economy

    However, the bigger story may be the launch of SKR, a new native token designed to power the Solana Mobile economy. As per the company’s roadmap, SKR will serve as an incentive and governance asset within a decentralized mobile architecture, driving engagement from developers, users, and hardware manufacturers alike.

    “SKR lies at the heart of our expanding platform,” Solana Mobile stated. “It will be distributed directly to users and builders who contribute to the mobile Web3 ecosystem—without intermediaries or gatekeepers.”

    To support this ecosystem, Solana is introducing a novel infrastructure called TEEPIN which it described as a decentralized architecture that connects secure mobile hardware with a permissionless mobile platform. TEEPIN integrates hardware-level trust, cryptographic access control, and a decentralized network of validators known as “Guardians.”

    Developers building on the Solana Mobile stack will reportedly be able to keep 100% of their earnings and directly reach an active, crypto-native audience. For users, the benefit lies in simplified crypto experiences—owning and controlling their identities, assets, and data with seamless one-touch signing and wallet integration.

    TEEPIN to Boost Phone’s Security

    Despite the excitement, the company still faces hurdles. Security remains a central concern for blockchain-enabled smartphones. In the past, cybersecurity firm CertiK have exposed a vulnerability in Solana’s Saga phone that allowed attackers to install backdoors in recovery mode. Solana Mobile has not disclosed specific steps to prevent similar threats, but TEEPIN’s emphasis on decentralized verification may address these risks.

    “To maintain trust and security as the platform expands and decentralizes, we’ll need a new type of architecture.” Solana Mobile emphasized “With TEEPIN, we connect secure hardware, platform verification, and a network of Guardians to create an open, decentralized mobile platform.”
