Institutional Adoption Dampening Price Swings
Wood emphasized that Bitcoin is no longer functioning as a speculative experiment. According to her assessment, institutional money flows have fundamentally altered price behavior and diminished dramatic fluctuations. In her CNBC appearance, she remarked, “Bitcoin has matured into a more dependable financial infrastructure.”
She noted that the extreme drawdowns reaching 95% were products of Bitcoin’s nascent phase. Wood suggested these catastrophic declines are now historical anomalies. She characterized a 50% pullback as something the current crypto ecosystem can absorb without panic.
Bitcoin was changing hands at $67,230 when this article was written, staying below the $70,000 threshold. The cryptocurrency also remained roughly 47% off its October 6, 2025 all-time high of $126,080. Nevertheless, Wood insisted that fundamental demand drivers remain intact.
Ark’s Bold $761,900 Price Forecast Unchanged
Ark Invest anticipates Bitcoin achieving a $16 trillion market valuation by the end of the decade. This prediction appeared in the firm’s Big Ideas 2026 publication. With Bitcoin’s fixed supply of 21 million coins, this market cap translates to a per-coin value of $761,900.
Ark’s calculations suggest approximately 63% compound annual growth over the coming five years. This represents an expansion from today’s roughly $2 trillion valuation to $16 trillion by 2030. Wood cited increasing institutional involvement as justification for this aggressive projection.
According to Ark’s research, American spot Bitcoin ETFs combined with publicly traded corporations now control approximately 12% of all Bitcoin. ETF accumulation climbed from 1.12 million BTC to 1.29 million BTC throughout 2025. Meanwhile, corporate balance sheets grew their positions from 598,000 BTC to 1.09 million BTC during the identical timeframe.
Collectively, these institutional holdings jumped from 8.7% to 12% in just twelve months. Ark attributes this acceleration to Bitcoin’s deeper integration into traditional finance. Wood characterized institutional behavior as treating Bitcoin like a digital equivalent to gold.
Ark modified its most bullish 2030 scenario in November 2025. The firm lowered its peak estimate by $300,000 compared to previous models. Stablecoin market expansion was identified as one reason for the recalibration.
Previous Ark forecasts had established a range between $300,000 and $1.5 million for 2030. The November revision compressed that upper boundary. Ark published these updated projections in late 2025.
